What if our Community doesn’t yet
participate in the Drive 2 Fitness?
A local Drive 2 Fitness General Manager applies to Fitness Forward
Foundation for access to D2F start-up rights and materials, and then
takes responsibility for local D2F awareness, getting rewards sponsors
to donate prizes, and for implementation with the participating School
District(s). This includes working with the School Board,
Superintendent or other administration, and designating School Leaders
for the schools in the participating districts.
General Managers can be individuals representing state or local government,
universities, health systems, or a School District itself. In fact, if
your area does not yet have a Drive 2 Fitness Franchise, you can
spearhead the effort by applying to be a General Manager yourself! You can
the run the program with minimal rewards (i.e. just recognition
certificates produced automatically with the online site) and
distribution, or you can create a major community-wide effort with
rewards, events, paper Scorecards and posters ready for the School
Leaders, and a D2F Tournament between schools and school
sponsors.
Also, anyone can participate in the National Drive 2 Fitness
Sweepstakes, which begins in the summer of 2005. But, no matter how
much you can do, even the smallest effort will go miles for the
children you support!
There is a lot of room for creativity—D2F is just a motivational
framework for making healthy choices. It’s up to you to help youth and
their role models discover ways to consistently Be Active, Eat Smart
and Sleep Well.
Click here to apply to Fitness Forward Foundation for access to D2F start-up rights and materials!
